The Inquiry

Chroma-Keith is the alter-ego of artist Caroline Jaine.

What begins as an investigation into the “truth” of people and events as presented in the media turns into a frenzy of conspiracy theories which begin to feed each other.  Chroma-Keith is particularly fixated by news coverage of the defacement and removal of political leaders in the wake of revolutionary moments.  He is also obsessed by the mechanism of the playing card as a means of spreading propaganda.  His quest begins and returns to the authentic auratic object as ultimate and pure evidence.

The Inquiry is an installation piece that will form Caroline Jaine’s Final Fine Arts Masters Show in September 2012.  It features Chroma-Keiths office and a controversial shrine to a defaced image of Gaddafi.
