Turning Point

“Lockdown Landscape” (waste automotive paint and donated oils on reclaimed, re-used canvas)

Earlier in the year, during lockdown I made a painting that I felt was a turning point. I couldn’t put my finger on it, but something unlocked in me – a joy in the act of painting that I don’t think I have really known before. It was something about line and colour that I felt I had previously overlooked. So here is the latest of a few “lockdown landscapes”. I hope to do more and to love doing them as much. I wanted to share this turning point with you as the year comes to an end, and we say goodbye to old friends and hello to new lives. Today was also the day the first person in the world was vaccinated against Covid-19. Here is to a turning point of love and healing.
